I had the chance to be an artist in residence at Signal Culture, a multimedia residency that lets artists explore analog and digital systems for experimental video techniques. My favorite part was playing with the knobs and waveforms of early magnetic tape signal generation. I captured these analog waveforms digitally, then printed the digital captures on paper. These paper prints are the foundation for exporations in collage and drawing - how can I bring joy and exploration into my studio practice when so much of the digital world seems hellbent on ruining everything?
